Lebanese President welcomes Saqr Ghobash in Beirut

Sharjah 24 – WAM: President Joseph Aoun of Lebanon welcomed Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC) of the UAE, at the Presidential Palace in Baabda as part of Ghobash’s official visit to Lebanon.

Exchange of greetings between leaders

Ghobash conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the Lebanese President. In return, President Aoun extended his greetings and well wishes to the UAE leadership, expressing hope for continued development and prosperity in the Emirates.

Strengthening bilateral relations

President Aoun praised the importance of Ghobash’s visit in enhancing Lebanese-UAE relations and emphasised the essential role of parliamentary institutions in deepening cooperation between the two nations. He also expressed gratitude for the UAE’s enduring support for Lebanon, highlighting the strong historical and fraternal bonds that unite both countries.

Discussion on regional and global developments

The meeting included discussions on current regional and international developments. Both sides shared perspectives on key global issues and reiterated the importance of promoting peace, security, and stability worldwide.

Emphasis on continued cooperation and support

Reaffirming the deep-rooted cultural, economic, and social ties between Lebanon and the UAE, both parties stressed the need to strengthen bilateral cooperation to serve the mutual interests of their peoples.
