The shipment, which arrived in Entebbe aboard a Dubai Royal Air Wing aircraft, carried 72.5 metric tonnes of humanitarian supplies provided by the World Food Programme’s United Nations Humanitarian Response Depot (WFP/UNHRD) and UNICEF from their Dubai-based stockpiles.
Relief supplies support Ebola response efforts
The aid included water purification tablets, mobile storage units, generators, tarpaulins, data loggers for monitoring vaccines and medicines, and hygiene facilities to support Ebola treatment centres and affected communities.
Dubai Humanitarian CEO and Board Member Giuseppe Saba said the continued airlifts reflect the UAE and Dubai’s commitment to ensuring humanitarian assistance reaches those in need. He highlighted the importance of delivering supplies where they can directly support healthcare workers and vulnerable communities.
Dubai Humanitarian expands global aid operations
The latest shipment brings Dubai Humanitarian’s 2026 total to nine air and land deliveries, providing more than 450 metric tonnes of aid to support crises in Gaza, Lebanon, Mozambique, Afghanistan, and other affected regions.
