‘Sharjah Fishing Cooperative’ holds its 1st Board elections

Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority, the Sharjah Fishing Cooperative Society held its annual general assembly meeting, which included the first elections for its Board of Directors. The meeting was held at the Sharjah Cultural Palace.

Supporting the fishing sector

This event comes within the framework of the significant support the fishing sector and fishermen receive from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah who attaches great importance to the fishing profession and fishermen, and is keen to provide the appropriate environment for its sustainability and ensure the stability of its workers.

Strengthening its role

His Excellency Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin, Chairman of the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority, emphasised the importance of this step in supporting cooperative work and strengthening the its role in serving the fishing sector.

According to the election results, Abdulrahman Salem Bushbas was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors and Ibrahim Mohammed Abdulla was appointed Vice Chairman.

The following also won membership in the Board of Directors: Zayed Ahmed Khalifa Al Mazrouei, Saeed Hilal Khalifa Al Nuaimi, Abdullah Hamad Abdullah Bin Malj, Hamid Rahma Rashid Al Suwaidi, and Nasser Rashid Khamis Al Suwaidi.
