Sharjah24: Sharjah Asset Management, the government's investment arm, honoured a group of economics professors from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) for their assistance in conducting a research project highlighting the company's contribution to the emirate's GDP.

The ceremony was attended by Sheikh Saud bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the company's Vice Chairman; Omar Al Mulla, CEO of Osoul Investment; Dr Mohammad Arzaghi, Professor of Economics at AUS; Dr Jay Squalli, Professor of Economics at AUS; and Fatima Al Hammadi, Investment Research Manager.

Enhancing data-driven decision-making

Omar Al Mulla expressed delight in the beneficial collaboration with AUS, which resulted in a high-quality research study that highlights Sharjah Asset Management's key role in boosting the emirate's GDP. He underscored the company's commitment to academic research by emphasising the value of reliable data for assessing investment operations, enhancing the local economy, and enabling scientifically informed strategic decision-making.

Al-Mulla also emphasised the importance of strengthening scientific research and investing in its consequences, which is a critical component of accelerating the country's transition to a knowledge economy. He emphasised Sharjah Asset Management's commitment to advancing knowledge and harnessing the benefits of scientific competence to support Sharjah's long-term economic development.
