Paramedics unload bodies of Palestinian first responders killed by Israeli fire at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis, Gaza
Sharjah 24 – AFP: The Red Cross federation expressed outrage on Sunday after eight medical colleagues were killed while on duty in the Gaza Strip, asking: "When will this stop?"

Bodies of medics recovered

The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that the bodies of the medics, killed a week earlier when Israeli forces fired on ambulances in southern Gaza, were recovered. Along with the medics, the bodies of six members of Gaza's civil defense agency and one UN agency employee were found. One Red Crescent ambulance officer remains missing.

IFRC condemns attack

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) condemned the deaths, calling it the most deadly attack on its colleagues since 2017. They emphasized that under International Humanitarian Law, civilians, humanitarian workers, and health services must be protected.

A call for an end to violence

IFRC Secretary-General Jagan Chapagain voiced heartbreak over the attack and questioned when the violence would stop, urging all parties involved to cease the killing. Since the war between Israel and Hamas began in October 2023, 30 PRCS volunteers and staff have been killed.
