The initiative, which takes place every year during the holy month of Ramadan, aims to promote sports as a healthy lifestyle choice. The event saw enthusiastic participation from club members of all ages and disabilities, along with employees and staff.
The programme featured a range of sports activities, including walking, running, and fitness games, fostering a spirit of sportsmanship and positivity among participants. At the closing ceremony, winners of the top positions were honoured with valuable prizes in recognition of their efforts. The awards were presented in the presence of Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Thiqah Club for Disabled, and Mohammed Abdullah Al Qayed, Board Member and Acting Executive Director.
Dr. Khalid Al Midfa emphasised that the event aligns with the club’s mission to promote social inclusion and empower individuals with disabilities through sports. He highlighted that "Sports Before Iftar" has become an annual tradition that raises awareness of the importance of physical activity, particularly during Ramadan.
He added, “Through this initiative, we aim to reinforce healthy and social values while showcasing the abilities of people with disabilities. Once again, they have proven that determination knows no limits. We extend our gratitude to the Sharjah Sports Council for its continued support and to all participants and organisers who contributed to the success of this event.”
Al Midfa further noted that the club remains dedicated to regularly organising such events to promote fitness and create a supportive environment that encourages a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
