Sharjah 24: The 19th round of the ADNOC Pro League kicks off, on Thursday, with the highly anticipated clash between Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli taking centre stage. This will be their fifth encounter this month across all competitions.

League Action Resumes After International Break

Following a brief international break—during which the UAE national team participated in the World Cup qualifiers and Emirati clubs competed in the AFC Champions League and Gulf Champions League—league action is set to resume.

This round features seven matches over three days, with the highlight being the top-of-the-table showdown between Shabab Al Ahli (1st place) and Sharjah (2nd place) at Sharjah Stadium on Friday.

Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli’s Recent Clashes

The two teams have already faced off four times this month:

AFC Champions League Quarterfinals: 2-2 draw in the first leg, 1-1 draw in the second leg, with Sharjah advancing on penalties (5-4).

ADIB Cup Semifinals: Shabab Al Ahli won the first leg 3-1, while the second leg ended in a 2-2 draw, sending Shabab Al Ahli to the final on aggregate.

Historically, the two sides have met 29 times in the league, with Shabab Al Ahli winning 15 matches, Sharjah winning 6, and 8 games ending in draws.

Shabab Al Ahli Aims to Extend Lead

Shabab Al Ahli, currently at the top of the table with 47 points, will be looking to widen the gap over second-placed Sharjah (40 points). Both teams still have one postponed match to play.
