The Eid Joy initiative distributes both material gifts and monetary Eid allowances to children ranging from newborns to 18 years old. Beneficiaries include children of families supported by the department as well as those residing in its care homes. Organised annually during Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha, the initiative is part of a series of programmes aimed at enhancing social responsibility and fostering compassion and generosity within the community.
Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department, underscored the initiative’s importance in creating a joyful Eid atmosphere for children and families alike. She affirmed that the department continuously implements initiatives that embody values of kindness and social solidarity, enriching the overall well-being of the community.
Al Hammadi further emphasised the initiative’s mission, stating, “Through Eid Joy, we aim to ensure every child feels the delight of Eid, regardless of their circumstances. Eid is a time of celebration, and every child deserves to experience it with warmth and happiness. We believe true joy lies in giving, and this initiative is a reflection of our dedication to uplifting the community.”
The Eid Joy project is one of several initiatives carried out by the department to support different social groups and promote a sense of collective responsibility. By launching meaningful programmes, the department continues to cultivate love, generosity, and social cohesion, ensuring that every child has a reason to celebrate during this special occasion.
