Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, issued Executive Council Resolution No. (13) of 2025, establishing the Data and Statistics Committee in Dubai.

Committee leadership and members

The committee will be chaired by the Director General of the Digital Dubai Authority, with Younus Abdulaziz Al Nasser serving as Vice Chairman. It includes members from various sectors such as government entities, Dubai’s State Security Department, and the Dubai Electronic Security Center.

Committee's role and responsibilities

The Data and Statistics Committee is tasked with managing data and statistics governance, improving government operations, and supporting Dubai’s digital transformation using AI and advanced technologies. It aims to enhance coordination across government bodies, align with strategic objectives, and streamline data exchange.

Focus on data integration and best practices

The committee will focus on improving operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with data and statistics standards, and recommending best practices for statistical calculations. It will also oversee the integration of essential data for AI applications, contributing to enhanced service experiences in Dubai.

Government entities' cooperation and support

All government entities are required to collaborate with the committee by providing timely data, information, and documents. Dubai Data and Statistics will offer administrative and technical support to facilitate the committee’s work.

Resolution impact

This resolution replaces Executive Council Decision No. (2) of 2008 and is effective immediately. It will be published in the Official Gazette and annul any conflicting legislation.
