UAE mediates exchange of 350 captives between Russia and Ukraine

Sharjah 24 – WAM: The United Arab Emirates has successfully mediated a new exchange of war captives between Russia and Ukraine. This exchange involved 175 Ukrainian captives and 175 Russian captives, totaling 350 individuals. With this effort, the total number of captives exchanged through UAE mediation has reached 3,233.

UAE's role in peace efforts recognised

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed gratitude to both Russia and Ukraine for their cooperation, highlighting the UAE’s significant role in supporting efforts to resolve the ongoing crisis.

Commitment to peace and humanitarian support

The Ministry reaffirmed the UAE's dedication to ensuring the success of all initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the conflict, while also addressing the humanitarian consequences, including those impacting refugees and captives.
