From heritage to creativity
The workshop offered children the opportunity to be creative and express their ideas by designing their own Ramadan lanterns.
The workshop, which was held, on Sunday, after Tarawih prayers, saw great interaction with children visiting the village.
Participants were provided with a variety of specialised tools, such as cardboard, paints, and decorative ribbons, to introduce them to the basics of design, decoration, and handicrafts. It also provided them with the opportunity to experiment with different manual lantern-making techniques, which contributed to stimulating their manual skills and enhancing their skills in innovation and creativity.
Sheikha Jamal Al Shamsi, from the Corporate Communications Department at Al Hamriyah Municipality, emphasised that the workshop was not limited to crafts alone; rather, it sought to develop the children's intellectual and creative abilities, in addition to instilling the concept of teamwork among them, which enhances their sense of accomplishment and self-confidence. It also connected them to Ramadan customs in a fun, educational, and simple way.
