His Excellency Yousef Khamis Al-Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, explained that the project includes a 12.7 km single-lane road in the dairy farm, with two lanes measuring 7.3 metres wide. This upgrade enhances traffic flow, accessibility, and transportation efficiency, streamlining logistics operations for the farm. The road provides a safe and smooth route for both heavy and light vehicles, ensuring the efficient transport of livestock products and animal feed, which in turn boosts the farm’s productivity and ensures high service standards.
Additionally, a 6.2 km single-lane road was developed in the wheat farm, also featuring two lanes, each 7.3 metres wide. This road enhances mobility between agricultural production zones, ensuring smoother and safer vehicle movement. It plays a key role in strengthening farm infrastructure, making transportation and distribution more efficient, and supporting Sharjah’s objectives for agricultural self-sufficiency and increased local food production.
Al-Othmani highlighted that these infrastructure projects align with SRTA’s long-term vision to establish a comprehensive and sustainable road network that facilitates economic and agricultural growth. The newly built roads in Mleiha reflect SRTA’s dedication to improving connectivity between productive sectors and essential service hubs, ensuring seamless transport operations that support Sharjah’s broader economic and logistical expansion.
These developments are crucial for strengthening the agricultural and livestock sectors, which form a key foundation for sustainable development. They directly support the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in enhancing food security and providing essential support to farmers and investors in this vital industry. SRTA remains committed to future development projects, ensuring the emirate has a modern and well-integrated road network that caters to the needs of various sectors while aligning with Sharjah’s ongoing urban and economic growth.
