Sharjah 24: Arab Cultural Club in Sharjah hosted, on Saturday, Dr. Amhamed Safi Al Mostghanemi, Secretary-General of the Arabic Language Academy (ALA) in Sharjah, in a cultural Ramadan lecture entitled "From the Secrets of the Verses of Fasting in the Holy Quran".
The lecture was moderated by linguistic researcher Dr. Muhammad Al Amin Al Samlali, who stated that Dr. Al Mostghanemi is known for his specialisation in studying the style of the Quran and his insightful contemplations on its wondrous patterns and miraculous language, through his studies and the programmes he has presented on Sharjah TV over the years.
Observing the context
Dr. A Muhammad Safi said that his talk will focus on the implications of the verses of fasting from Surat Al-Baqarah, and he pointed out that when studying any verses of the Qur’an, it is important to look at the context in which they were mentioned, as the significance of a verse or verses and their various connections and aspects of their miraculousness cannot be understood unless they are in their context.
Contemplating Qur’an
Al Mostghanemi added that the verses on fasting came in a style intended to make things easier and more convenient.
Al Mostaghanemi concluded by calling on the public to read the Qur’an and contemplate its verses, as it contains wonder and miracle.
