Podcast insights
In the third episode of the religious podcast "Duroob Al Khair" broadcast on Sharjah 24 YouTube channel and hosted by Sheikh Dr. Salem Al-Doubi, the topic of "An Ideal Day in the Life of a Fasting Person" was explored.

Sheikh Al-Doubi highlighted the importance of spiritual and psychological preparation for fasting, stressing that a fasting individual should begin their day with a sincere intention and a heart filled with faith. This enhances the value of fasting and helps endure its challenges. He noted that fasting is not merely abstaining from food and drink; it is an opportunity for purifying the soul and training it in patience and endurance.

Time management during Ramadan
He also discussed how to organise time throughout the day to maximize the benefits of fasting, suggesting a programme from the pre-dawn meal (suhoor) to the Taraweeh prayers. He emphasised the importance of dividing the day between worship, work, and rest to prevent one aspect from overshadowing the others. He recommended starting the day with Fajr prayer and Quran recitation, providing spiritual energy to face the day with positivity.

Strengthening the relationship with God
Sheikh Al-Doubi reviewed how to leverage fasting to strengthen the relationship with God through increased remembrance, supplication, and Quran reading. He affirmed that fasting is a golden opportunity for repentance, forgiveness, and renewing one's covenant with God. He also mentioned that a fasting person should reflect on their heart and behavior, avoiding gossip, slander, and other actions that could nullify the rewards of fasting.

At the end of the episode, Sheikh Salem Al-Doubi reiterated that fasting is a wonderful opportunity to achieve balance in the spiritual, social, and personal aspects of a Muslim's life. An ideal day for a fasting person is one that combines worship, work, and rest, while ensuring that every moment is invested in obedience to God and self-improvement.
