Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, stressed during the opening of the ninth edition of the Xposure International Photography Festival in Aljada in Sharjah, that this festival is one of the most prominent events that contribute to elevating the cultural and artistic diversity in the Emirate, which enhances its position on the global stage.
He added that the festival brings together an elite group of international photographers, where they present their unique works and transfer their valuable experiences and expertise to the public.
Al Midfa pointed out that this year's edition is distinguished by its new location in Aljada, which is a vital location that attracts many visitors and those interested in the art of photography, wishing all those in charge of this event success in providing a unique experience.
For his part, His Excellency Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of Sharjah Municipal Council, stressed that the Xposure continues its development by highlighting important issues such as climate change, pollution, youth issues, and natural disasters, while documenting these issues through images and sound.
The festival also includes a group of exhibitions and film screenings produced by international celebrities, making it a prominent event in the field of photography and visual media.
In the same context, His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), stated that the festival expands and diversifies in each new edition, making it an important destination for photography enthusiasts.
He pointed out that one of the distinctive events this year is the participation of the House of Wisdom in a special display about the scientist Ibn Al-Haytham, the discoverer of optics, which is a great opportunity for the public to explore this field, whether they are interested in photography or not.
