Sharjah 24: Saeed bin Rashid Al-Ketbi, Director of Al Wusta Channel from Al Dhaid, has announced the launch of the 5th Al Wusta Channel Camel Festival. The prestigious event, scheduled to take place over three days at the Al Dhaid Camel Racing Track, will feature 62 competitive rounds.

Organised by Al Wusta Channel, a subsidiary of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, in partnership with the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, the festival is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This initiative aims to support camel owners and preserve the UAE's rich cultural heritage.

 

The inaugural day's programme includes 24 rounds in the Haqayi category, with competitions scheduled for both morning and evening sessions. The event has garnered substantial interest, attracting camel owners and enthusiasts from across the UAE and neighbouring Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

 

This year's festival, commencing on 19th February 2025, promises to be a significant celebration of traditional Emirati culture and sportsmanship.
