SRTA launches AI camera initiative in taxis

 The Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA) introduced a groundbreaking initiative during the 10th edition of UAE Innovation Month 2025, centred around the theme "Power of Innovation." The initiative includes the deployment of AI-driven smart cameras in every taxi throughout the emirate, aligning with SRTA's continuous commitment to upgrading the transportation network and bolstering safety and security measures. A total of 4,850 taxis have been equipped with these advanced cameras, alongside smart boards at public transport stations, providing accurate bus arrival times for passengers.

Improving public transport experience
Al Jarwan further explained that SRTA has also installed smart boards at public transport stations, offering passengers precise bus arrival schedules. This initiative aims to improve the public transport experience and streamline mobility across different regions of the emirate.
