Sharjah24: Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Government Relations (DGR), met with the Danish Minister of Agriculture at the Mleiha wheat farm to discuss avenues for agricultural cooperation between Sharjah and Denmark. The visit aimed to showcase the emirate’s pioneering efforts in sustainable farming and explore potential collaborations in agricultural innovation.
During his interview with Sharjah 24, Sheikh Fahim emphasised the significance of the Mleiha Wheat Farm, describing it as a unique initiative in the UAE that has successfully cultivated wheat with the highest protein content globally. He noted that the project reflects Sharjah’s commitment to advancing agricultural sustainability and food security through strategic investments and innovative practices.
He further highlighted that as Sharjah continues to expand its focus on agriculture, the emirate is strengthening its position on the global stage as a hub for best practices in sustainable farming. Sheikh Fahim expressed confidence that such initiatives will contribute to enhancing Sharjah’s economic diplomacy, fostering stronger international partnerships, and attracting global interest in the emirate’s agricultural advancements.
