The event, featuring the theme "Roots," will take place at Mleiha Heritage Village on February 16th and 17th. It aims at honouring the UAE's rich cultural heritage by showcasing traditional goods made by hard-working families and by hosting interesting events where older generations teach younger generations about UAE traditions.
Bringing traditions to life
Al Ketbi informed Sharjah 24 in an exclusive interview that the rich history of the Emirati people is the central theme of this year's event. The event showcases ancient practices, such as traditional cookery, Arabic coffee making, and Emirati hospitality, through live demonstrations by older residents. Folkloric performances and heritage chants showcase the nation's unique culture and are available to visitors.
Supporting local artisans
The event will also include hard-working families selling a range of traditional handcrafted goods, highlighting the importance of the local community in maintaining traditional crafts and supporting small businesses rooted in heritage.
An invitation to experience Emirati culture
At the end of his remarks, Al Ketbi extended an invitation to those who live in or visit Mleiha to join in the celebrations and experience firsthand the harmonious fusion of old and new through participatory activities.
