A significant part of the conversation focused on the department's ongoing efforts to coordinate with universities regarding the specialisations required by the labor market. The department confirmed its collaboration with the University of Sharjah, as well as other national universities, colleges, and academies, to ensure that educational outcomes are aligned with labor market needs.
This meeting was part of the committee's visit to the Human Resources Department headquarters in Sharjah City, during the second session of the eleventh legislative term. The committee was chaired by Eng. Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi, with participation from committee members Ahmed Rashid Al Shamsi, Majid Ahmed Al Darwishi Al Shamsi, Fatima Mohammed Khasouni Al Ketbi, Ahmed Obaid Al Awasiyah Al Zaabi, and Salem Mohammed Al Rashidi. Also present were Jassim Mohammed Al Hanawi Al Naqbi, Council Member and Head of the Voting Preparation Committee, and Amna Baslaib from the General Secretariat of the Council, Head of Sessions Affairs.
The committee met with Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Member of the Executive Council of Sharjah and Head of the SDHR, as well as Majid Hamad Al Marri, Director of the Department, to discuss the department’s future plans. These plans align with the department's strategic vision and His Highness Ruler of Sharjah’s directives, aiming to support the nation’s citizens and provide opportunities for professional and societal stability.
During the meeting, council members made multiple interventions on key topics regarding the department's policies, focusing on enhancing employment opportunities for citizens and ensuring that university specialisations are aligned with labor market needs. Eng. Jamila Mohammed Al Fandi Al Shamsi emphasised the council’s commitment to supporting job seekers and ensuring that coordination with universities, particularly the University of Sharjah, is proceeding with clear plans to meet future employment requirements.
Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Head of the SDHR, highlighted the department's efforts to develop vocational rehabilitation programs and provide diverse job opportunities for citizens. These initiatives are in line with the directives of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, aimed at equipping graduates with the necessary competencies for both the government and private sectors.
