Sharif Al Olama: UAEs clear vision for energy future

Sharjah 24: Engineer Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, highlighted the UAE's ambitious Energy Strategy 2050, launched two years ago.

Clean energy goal and climate neutrality

The UAE aims to achieve 20 gigawatts of clean energy by 2030, with plans to reach zero emissions by 2050. Al Olama emphasised to “Sharjah 24” that this target is just the beginning of the nation’s journey toward climate neutrality.

Successful innovations and global collaboration

Al Olama also discussed the ministry’s successful projects, particularly in energy management, and its participation in the World Government Summit. He shared the UAE’s experiences and innovations, such as reducing bureaucratic barriers in the housing sector, where the number of entities citizens deal with was cut from 11 to one, significantly improving efficiency.
