UOS promotes 16 faculty members to higher academic ranks

University Board of Trustees approves faculty promotions
The recent promotions were approved by the University’s Board of Trustees, chaired by His Highness, in recognition of the faculty members' outstanding contributions to research, teaching, learning, and community service.

Chancellor's praise for newly promoted academics
During a ceremony held in their honor, the Chancellor praised the newly promoted academics, highlighting that these advancements represent the culmination of careers dedicated to academic excellence and scholarly achievement. He commended their research, especially publications in high-impact international journals, their commitment to innovative teaching methods, and their contributions to the University and community.

Encouraging continued excellence and innovation
His Excellency Prof. Al Naimiy described the promotions as a new milestone in the honorees' academic journeys, urging them to continue pursuing excellence and innovation. He emphasized the importance of directing scientific research to address societal challenges and encouraged faculty members to engage students in research projects, fostering the next generation of scholars.

Prof. Yousef Haik, Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, and Prof. Qutayba Hamid expressed their delight at the promotions and extended their congratulations and gratitude to the faculty members, wishing them continued success in their academic careers.

Promotions to full professor rank
Promotion to the rank of full professor was awarded to several faculty members, including Prof. Ali Cheaitou, Prof. Anis Allagui, Prof. Bashria Abdrub Alrasoul Yousef, Prof. Saleh Abu Dabous from the College of Engineering; Prof. Asad Aburumman from the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Prof. Faridahwati Mohd Shamsudin from the College of Business Administration; Prof. Ayssar Nahle from the College of Sciences; Prof. Nabeel Al-Yateem from the College of Health Sciences; and Prof. Wael Mohamed Talaat Taha from the College of Dentistry.

Promotions to associate professor rank
Meanwhile, promotions to the rank of associate professor were conferred upon Dr. Syed Abidur Rahman and Dr. Ijaz Ur Rehman from the College of Business Administration; Dr. Mohamed Hamad from the College of Health Sciences; Dr. Mahmoud Ahmed Mahmoud Albreem and Dr. Ridvan Aydin from the College of Engineering; Dr. Madou Gaye Sylla from the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies; and Dr. Marwan Al-Momani from the College of Sciences.
