Sharjah24: The Dubai Judicial Council and the University of Sharjah (UOS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at deepening academic, research, and professional collaboration between the two institutions.

The agreement was formalised by His Excellency Professor Abdullah Saif Al Sabousi, Secretary-General of the Dubai Judicial Council, and His Excellency Professor Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah. This partnership is set to pave the way for the development of joint academic and training programs in legal and judicial fields, while also offering practical training opportunities for UoS law students within entities overseen by the Judicial Council. The memorandum further opens doors for the recruitment of outstanding graduates into key judicial roles.

Beyond academic programs, the memorandum calls for robust cooperation in organizing conferences, seminars, and specialized workshops, as well as implementing joint research projects designed to foster innovation in judicial operations and services. The agreement also emphasizes the importance of continuing education for both judicial and administrative staff and encourages the exchange of publications and legal resources between the two parties.

During the signing ceremony, Professor Esameldin Agamy welcomed the partnership, underscoring the University’s commitment to strengthening its community role and forging sustainable relationships with government bodies as guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University. Prof. Agamy also highlighted the University’s broad spectrum of academic programs, which serve all sectors of the nation, and its multidisciplinary research that provides scientific solutions to contemporary challenges.

Professor Abdullah Saif Al Sabousi affirmed the Judicial Council’s dedication to nurturing and developing national talent in the legal and judicial arenas. He stressed the importance of collaborating with esteemed academic institutions like the University of Sharjah to prepare a new generation of legal professionals equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Al Sabousi reiterated the Council’s commitment to expanding its partnership with the UoS, recognizing it as one of the country’s premier higher education institutions.

This landmark agreement is part of ongoing national efforts to elevate the justice system and enhance the professional capabilities of judicial personnel, aligning with the UAE’s vision of building a secure, just, and knowledge-driven society.

The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Yousef Haik Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Dr. Salah Taher Al Haj, Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs; and Professor Faker Al-Gharaibeh, Director of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences Research. Representing the Judicial Council were Judge Omar Mohammed Miran, Deputy Director of Dubai Courts, and Judge Dr. Abdulrahman Jumaa Sharaf, Assistant Secretary-General of the Judicial Council.
