The festival, organised by the Department of Culture, will take place from 3 to 10 February, featuring more than 60 poets, critics, and media figures from throughout the Arab world.
Legacy of poetry
Emirati poet Awad bin Rashid Al Ketbi emphasised the festival's importance as a cultural platform that honours Nabati poetry, a vital component of Arabic literary heritage. He observed that Nabati poetry encompasses different forms, including Al-Wana,Al-Raddha, Al-Taghruda, and Al-Azi showcase the rich tapestry of regional traditions.
Al Ketbi highlighted the festival’s significance in presenting the variety of Nabati poetry and encouraging enthusiasm among younger generations. He commended Sharjah for its dedication to preserving and promoting this art form within the cultural landscape.
