Sharjah24: In a significant move for African literature, Kalimat Group (KG) has unveiled a poetic epic that stands out as one of the most important contributions to the type. The Perfect Nine: The Epic of Gikuyu and Mumbi, authored by renowned Kenyan novelist Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o, has been released to honor the rich heritage of African storytelling.

Thiong’o, a prominent voice in African literature, is known for his captivating tales that reflect his country's history, the fight against colonialism, and the social changes that have shaped its identity. He has been honored with multiple recognized honors, such as the Lotus Prize for Literature in 1973 and the American National Awards in 2012.

A Timeless Tale

The Perfect Nine is a 196-page mythical epic that captures the journey of African people and their enduring struggles with nature and survival. The research project explores the development of the family structure, beginning with male and female partnerships, progressing into family units, and ultimately leading to the establishment of primary family groups. This narrative highlights themes of togetherness, strength, and the greatest human qualities, showcasing the influence of both intellect and emotion in achieving survival.
