Sharjah Police honours "Capture the Flag" winners

Sharjah 24: At the conclusion of the "Be Aware 2025" cybersecurity awareness campaign, Sharjah Police, under the leadership of Brigadier General Ahmed Haji Al Sarkal, Director General of the General Department of Community Protection and Prevention, presented awards to the winners of the "Capture the Flag" challenge. Al Jada hosted the event, marking the conclusion of the annual campaign.

The ceremony saw the presence of Colonel Dr. Mohammed bin Butti Al Hajri, Director of the Media and Public Relations Department; Colonel Mohammed Rahma Al Ghazal, Deputy Director of the Digital Services Department; Colonel Mohammed Al Dhahouri, Deputy Director of the Media and Public Relations Department; and Major Saud Al Sheiba, Head of the Campaigns Section.

Importance of raising cybersecurity awareness

The "Capture the Flag" challenge, which is a component of the "Be Aware" initiative, seeks to improve awareness regarding cybercrimes. The task entails locating a concealed "flag," which is a file that holds hidden information within a virtual setting. Brigadier General Al Sarkal said that raising cybersecurity awareness was very important, especially among college students, because of how quickly technology is changing and the risks that come with it.
