Dibba Al Hisn Club is competing in the championship with 8 teams, divided into two groups. The club faces clubs from Oman, Kuwait, and Qatar in Group 2, while Group 1 includes teams from Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia. Al Mutawa emphasised that the main objectives for participating are to prepare for the Gulf Championship and provide the team with valuable experience through matches against strong teams such as MT Melsungen (Germany), Zamalek (Egypt), and Al-Afriqi and Etoile du Sahel (Tunisia).
Al Mutawa also highlighted the club's strategic plan to develop handball in Dibba Al Hisn, focusing on nurturing youth talent. Handball has a long history in Dibba Al Hisn, and the decision to reinstate the sport, supported by the Sharjah Sports Council, has been met with great enthusiasm, as it is the second most popular sport in the UAE.
