Sharjah Children organises the Sports and Arts Festival

Sharjah 24: In an effort to enhance children's creative skills, "Sharjah Children" affiliated with the Rubu' Qarn for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, organised the Sports and Arts Festival, with the participation of approximately 400 participants, from affiliated children and the public, within the age group of 6 to 12 years, on Saturday, January 11, at Kashisha Park in Sharjah; with the participation of local and community institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah.

Showcasing children’s artistic and sports skills

The festival aimed to showcase children’s artistic and sports activities and encourage continuous creativity and help them gain physical fitness. It also seeks to introduce the programs and activities organised by the foundation for children in the fields of arts and sports.

 

Conducting a series of creative workshops

The festival included a series of creative artistic workshops for children with the participation of their parents, most notably: Idea in a Square, Mosaic Art, Islamic Engravings, and Sculpture Technique, through which various artistic works and designs were produced that highlighted the creativity of the children participating in the workshops.

In addition to organising a mini art exhibition for children's artistic creations, through which 50 artworks from the products of the Arts Track for the year 2024 were displayed; noting that a group of children's artworks were adapted from the works of international artists.

 

A walking challenge for all

As for the sports aspect, children enjoyed participating in various sports games represented in the Walking Challenge initiative supervised by the UAE Sports for All Federation to educate children and the public about the importance of walking and making it a way of life. Players displayed their skills in judo and taekwondo as part of the Sports Incubators Programme held in cooperation with Sharjah Women's Sports Foundation.

A panel discussion was also held with the players to talk about their experience in the programme and its impact on developing their abilities with the participation of their parents.

The children participated in sports challenges such as jumping, vaulting, overcoming obstacles and a group of other sports such as shuttle relay, football, ground chess and judo.

On the sidelines of the festival, entertainment corners were set up such as restaurants, cafes, projects and national products.

 

It is worth noting that Sharjah Children organised the festival in cooperation with a number of sponsoring bodies and cooperating government institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah, namely, Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, Sharjah Museums Authority, Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club, UAE Sports for All Federation, Girls Chess and Culture Club, Sharjah Cooperative and Mara’i Company.
