500 Omani artists participate in the Arab Theater Festival

Al Shanfari expressed his gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unwavering support of Arab theatre artists. He emphasized that hosting this session of the Arab Theatre Festival in the Sultanate of Oman plays a crucial role in bolstering the theatre movement in the region.

In an interview with “Sharjah 24,” Al Shanfari mentioned that the Arab Theater Institute has released several publications focusing on Omani theatre to coincide with the festival. Additionally, 80 young theatre practitioners are participating in workshops organized by the Authority, where they are exploring various topics such as acting skills and techniques, the art of mime and silent performance, managing actors, and ensuring occupational safety for individuals with disabilities in theatre. He noted that the Authority has thoughtfully curated the festival's activities to significantly contribute to the growth of the theatre movement in the Sultanate.
