Sharjah 24: The horse "Badran Baynouna" from Abu Dhabi Racing claimed victory in the prestigious His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah Cup, held today, Sunday, at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.

Event details

The race, organised by the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, saw the participation of 86 purebred Arabian and locally produced horses.

The event took place at the Sharjah Longines track and was supported by Longines as the official sponsor, with additional backing from the Sharjah Sports Council and media sponsorship from Sharjah Sports Channel.

Race format and prize fund

The Sharjah Ruler's Cup consisted of six rounds of various distances and levels, offering a total prize pool of 480,000 dirhams.

Round winners

  • First Round (Longines Legend Diver Round): "SS Rawaa," owned by Ahmed Saeed Al Mazrouei.
  • Second Round (Longines Spirit Flyback Round): "AF Ynoms," owned by Khalid Khalifa Al Nabooda.
  • Third Round (Longines Spirit Zulu Time Round): "AF La Atab."
  • Fourth Round (Sharjah Marathon presented by Longines Conquest Round): "Adi," owned by Mohammed Ahmed Al Abri.
  • Fifth Round (His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah Cup Round): "Badran Baynouna," owned by Abu Dhabi Racing, which won the main round.
  • Sixth Round (Longines Dolce Vita Round): "Maseer," owned by Hassan Mohammed Ali Al Shehhi.

Presentation of prizes

The winners of each round were crowned by various dignitaries, including His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Khalifa Al Yahyaei, Director General of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, His Excellency Patrick Aoun, Regional Director of Longines, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.
