Sharjah24: Fathi Abdulrahman, a prominent Palestinian artist and the author of the 2025 Arab Theatre Day message, highlighted the ongoing "battle" for Arab culture and theatre. He stressed the importance of courageously defending national and humanistic values that protect Arab societies.

Fathi Abdulrahman conveyed his pride in being selected by the Arab Theatre Authority to speak to theatre professionals throughout the Arab world. He praised the Authority’s initiatives led by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, a pioneer in modern theatre. Abdulrahman emphasised the Authority's commitment to maintaining and ensuring the sustainability of theatre throughout the Arab region.

In an interview with "Sharjah24", Abdulrahman emphasised that theatre, with a rich history of over 25 centuries since its inception by humanity, will surely survive. He emphasised the crucial need to incorporate modern technologies to maintain the humanistic and vital role of theatre within society. Theatre is presented as a significant medium that mirrors the dreams and aspirations of the Arab people.

Abdulrahman presented the Arab Theatre Day message at the opening ceremony of the 15th Arab Theatre Festival, held at Al Irfan Theatre in Muscat, Oman. The festival, showcasing 14 theatrical performances from 12 Arab nations, will continue until January 15.
