Sharjah24: Ismail Abdullah, the Secretary-General of the Arab Theatre Authority, has announced that the 15th edition of the Arab Theatre Festival will begin in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The festival, organised by the Arab Theatre Authority in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth and the Omani Theatre Association, is set to continue until January 15.
Ismail Abdullah emphasised that the Arab Theatre Festival has evolved into a distinguished venue for Arab theatre artists to present their newest works and compete for the Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Award, which is awarded for the Best Arab Theatrical Production. A total of 11 performances from 10 Arab countries are competing for the prestigious award this year.
In an interview with “Sharjah24”, Abdullah highlighted that the festival provides an opportunity for theatre professionals to showcase their best performances to Omani audiences and theatre lovers around the globe. He expressed appreciation to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for establishing a supportive environment for Arab theatre artists via the Arab Theatre Authority, allowing them to share ideas, think the future, and achieve their aspirations.
