The winter programme attracted more than 22 members, and presented a variety of educational activities and practical workshops, aimed at developing the thinking skills of people with learning difficulties and enhancing their integration into society.
The winter programme, which was presented by a number of specialised trainers, was distinguished by its innovative activities that focused on enhancing members’ logical, creative and innovative thinking skills.
The programme, which was supported by Sharjah Safari and Sharjah Museums Authority, also included outdoor activities, recreational trips and various workshops, most notably organising a trip to Sharjah Safari, which enabled members to interact with different natural environments.
The programme also included a number of training workshops aimed at enhancing the executive and social skills of people with learning difficulties, enhancing their ability to be flexible in sustaining attention and working memory, and developing their ability to plan and organise. The programme also included specialised workshops such as the arts of response, a workshop on drawing and animating characters, and the basics of sign language.
Dr. Hanadi Al Suwaidi, Director of Sharjah Centre for Learning Difficulties, indicated that the centre continues its efforts to achieve its strategic vision aimed at empowering people with learning difficulties by providing an interactive and innovative educational environment that enhances their capabilities and develops their life and social skills. She noted that this year's winter programme focused on stimulating creative thinking for members, developing their skills, and in line with the best practices followed in supporting people with learning difficulties and integrating them into society.
Dr. Hanadi Al Suwaidi stressed the centre’s keenness to provide innovative educational solutions that keep pace with the needs of people with learning difficulties and encourage them to discover their own potential, in which technical aspects are integrated with practical activities that aim to develop the cognitive and social skills of members.
Al Suwaidi added that through activities that stimulate logical and creative thinking, the centre is keen to enhance the ability of members to actively engage in the digital and innovative future. She also extended her thanks to Sharjah Safari and Sharjah Museums Authority, who contributed to the success of the programme and enhanced the educational and practical experience of members, as well as to the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) for their support for all events and programmes provided by the centre.
It is worth noting that Sharjah Centre for Learning Difficulties organises many activities, events and innovative programmes annually that aim to improve the quality of life of people with learning difficulties and provide them with all forms of care, meet their needs and contribute to achieving their ambitions and creativity and developing their skills and cognitive abilities, in addition to spreading awareness and scientific knowledge of learning difficulties. The centre also provides all integrated and comprehensive services to people with learning difficulties, their families and society in general.
