The department opened 30 mosques by the end of the holy month of Ramadan, and opened 10 new mosques in the last third of 2024, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who pays special attention to building mosques in various cities and regions of the Emirate.
The mosques are distributed across the cities and suburbs of the Emirate, including 26 mosques in the city of Sharjah, 6 mosques in the Central Region, and 8 mosques in the Eastern Region.
The mosques have been equipped with the latest facilities and services to provide all means of comfort to worshipers, while taking into account environmental standards that achieve sustainability. An elite group of imams and muezzins have also been appointed in them.
The new mosques are distinguished by the diversity of their architectural designs that reflect a unique diversity in Islamic styles, which enhances the Islamic identity of the Emirate and highlights the aesthetics of traditional and modern architecture in it.
The department expressed its thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the work teams, stressing its commitment to continue implementing its ambitious plans to upgrade mosques in the Emirate of Sharjah, and achieve the highest levels of service to the community and the public.
