12th Sharjah Scout Theatre Festival comes to end

Sharjah24: The 12th edition of the Sharjah Scout Theatre Festival concluded on Saturday evening. The Sharjah Department of Culture, in partnership with the Sharjah Scout Commission, organises the event annually at its headquarters under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Scholarly pursuits The closing day saw Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture; Ahmed Burhaima, Director of the Theatre Department and Festival Director; and Major General Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Scout Commission. The event demonstrated academic activities from both the University of Sharjah and Al Qasimia University.

Four performances

On the second day, there were four performances: “Tatheel” presented by the Rover Scouts of the University of Sharjah, “Faces of Shadows” from Al Qasimia University’s Rover Scouts, “Greed” by Sharjah Scout Commission Group B, and “Najm “by Sharjah Scout Commission Group A.

University of Sharjah achieves top honours

The Rover Scouts from the University of Sharjah received the accolade for Best University Performance, whereas the Rover Scouts from Al Qasimia University secured the Best Group award.

Al Qasimia University awarded for best idea

Al Qasimia University's "@Faces of Shadows" won the Best Idea award, and “Tatheel “won the Best Concept Development award. Abdullah Al Shaasani received the accolade of Best Narrator for his performance in “Faces of Shadows “, while Adam Mohammed, Khalid Mohammed Bilal, Yousef Saeed, and Rassam Ali collectively earned the Best Actor award for their contributions in “Tatheel “, “Faces of Shadows “, and “Greed “.
