Sharjah 24: The UAE National Football Team will face Oman tomorrow, Friday, at 6:30 pm in the final group stage match of the Arabian Gulf Cup "Gulf Zain 26" at Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium. This match will determine their qualification for the semi-finals.

Key matches to decide semi-finalists

In addition to the UAE vs Oman match, the Kuwaiti and Qatari teams will also play at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium at the same time, with both teams fighting for a spot in the semi-finals.

Group standings and qualification battle

Kuwait and Oman currently share the lead in Group One with 4 points each, while the UAE and Qatar both have one point.

Our National Team's goal: A two-goal victory

To secure a spot in the next round, our national team needs to win by at least two goals, ensuring qualification based on direct confrontations. Alternatively, a one-goal win could still lead to qualification, depending on the tournament's regulations.

Tournament regulations for qualification

If teams are tied on points, the tournament rules prioritize the goal difference in matches between the tied teams (direct confrontations). If still tied, the number of goals scored in these matches is considered, followed by the overall goal difference in all tournament matches. The final tiebreaker could be based on the fair play rule (warnings).

Final preparations ahead of the match

The national team, led by Portuguese coach Paulo Bento, completed a training session at Al Yarmouk Sports Club 24 hours after their match against Kuwait. The session focused on recovery and warm-up exercises, concluding their preparations for the crucial Oman match.
