Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council celebrated the victorious clubs at the recently concluded archery championship held at Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club on Saturday, December 14th. The event saw the participation of 62 players representing eight clubs: Sharjah, Al Madam, Mleiha, Al Batayeh, Khorfakkan, Dibba Al Hisn, Hamriyah, and the Amiri Guard. The players from Al Madam club emerged as the top performers, claiming a total of 15 medals across various categories.
The closing ceremony and medal presentation were attended by H.E. Adel Al Hammadi, a member of the UAE Archery Federation, along with Matar Saleh Al-Rashdi, a member of the Al Madam Club’s board, Jassim Aldoukhi, Head of Individual Sports, Samir George, Specialist in Sports Development at the Sharjah Sports Council, and German expert Martin Friedrich.
Results Breakdown:
- Olympic Bow 18m Boys Under 12: The trio from Al Madam, Hamdan Al Ketbi, Naif Al Ketbi, and Nasser Al Ketbi, secured the top spots.
- Compound Bow 18m Boys Under 12: First place went to Ghaith Nasser from Hamriyah, followed by Nasser Al Ketbi and Mohammed Bin Shena from Al Batayeh.
- Olympic Bow 40m Boys Under 15: The Al Madam trio of Mohammed Hamidi, Mohammed Hamidi, and Hamad Al Ketbi claimed first place.
- Compound Bow 40m Boys Under 15: Al Madam’s top performers were Mansoor Al Kaabi, Nasser Saeed, and Sultan Omar.
- Olympic Bow 60m Boys Under 18: The Al Madam trio, Khalifa Musabah, Mansoor Saeed, and Salem Badr, dominated the podium.
- Compound Bow 60m Boys Under 18: Ali Al Ketbi from Al Batayeh claimed first, followed by Al Madam’s Obaid Ahmed and Al Batayeh’s Salem Ali.
- Compound Bow 50m Men’s Open: Mohammed Musaleh from Al Madam secured first, followed by Abdullah Darwish from Al Batayeh and Sharjah Sports Club’s Abdul Kareem Al Junaibi.
- Olympic Bow 70m Men’s Open: First place went to Saud Mohammed from Sharjah Sports Club, with Abdullah Obaid from Al Madam in second, and Saad Al Najar from the Amiri Guard in third.
This championship not only highlighted the exceptional talent from various clubs but also emphasised Sharjah’s growing dominance in the sport of archery.
