Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) will announce the winners of the "Harfa" Award for productive families from the department's production centre members on December 19, at the Centro Hotel in Sharjah.
Maryam Al Hammadi, Director of the production centre, explained that the award aligns with the centre’s strategy to support projects by its "Intaj" social care affiliates. It focuses on empowering emerging projects that contribute to expanding the labour market, enhancing social welfare, and strengthening family empowerment.
Al Hammadi emphasised the significance of the productive families project as a source of income or a means to increase family income. Reflecting the department’s commitment to fostering a society with well-being, decent living, and quality of life, the "Harfa" Award is held annually to motivate and encourage families to engage in productive activities, working towards the Sharjah Social Services Department's broader goals.
The award aims to inspire production centre members to actively participate in events, exhibitions, and programmes, promote their projects, and pursue the "accreditation" license from the Sharjah Economic Development Department. This license offers a 50% discount to the centre’s 98 members, improving the conditions of low-income families. The award criteria include participation in at least 30 exhibitions, attendance at 30 workshops across the centre’s branches, consistent production, and sharing knowledge with others in their area of expertise.
The award will recognise the top three winners in first, second, and third place, with cash prizes. To participate, members must belong to the production centre and have their own products.
