Sharjah 24: The Recommendations Committee of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) held its meeting, on Thursday, at the Council's premises. During the meeting, the committee discussed its views on preparing recommendations for the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, as part of the committee's work for the second regular session of the eleventh legislative term.
This meeting comes as a continuation of the committee's roles after the Council held its third session, which discussed the policy of the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority.

The meeting was chaired by Jassim Mohammed Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Committee, with the attendance of committee members who participated in discussing the general frameworks for preparing the recommendations.

Committee members present included Dr. Sultan Khamis Al Zaabi (committee rapporteur), Ibrahim Mohammed Al Mansouri, Issa Abdullah Al Kalbani, Sultan Ali Al Musafri, Obaid Ahmed Al Naqbi, and Mohammed Ali bin Salem Al Ketbi.

Fatima Al Muqarrab, a Council member and rapporteur of the Financial, Economic and Industrial Affairs Committee, also attended, along with Abdul Aziz bin Khadem, Deputy Director of Parliamentary Affairs.

The meeting studied mechanisms for preparing recommendations in light of current data, emphasising the need for these recommendations to align with the Sharjah government's vision in developing all its sectors and enhancing their sustainability.

It was emphasised that the recommendations should cover multiple areas, including enhancing operational efficiency in ports and free zones, developing the customs system, and working on strengthening infrastructure and improving services provided to investors. Attendees discussed the importance of providing an advanced and flexible environment that supports economic growth in the emirate.

At the end of the meeting, the committee prepared its recommendations in preparation for presentation to the Consultative Council in an upcoming general session. These recommendations are expected to form an important step towards supporting and enhancing the successes of the Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority and strengthening its role in supporting the national economy.
