In a move to enhance awareness around self-advocacy, Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services is set to host a program focused on the "Self-Advocacy Curriculum" on December 16 and 17, led by educator Mai Mohsen.
On December 18, Anwar Obeid, Head of the Severe and Multiple Disabilities Centre, will unveil a program called "Strategies for Educating Persons with Severe Disabilities." This presentation will showcase innovative methods and effective practices aimed at enhancing the educational experience for individuals with significant disabilities.
The series is set to wrap up with a Level 1 Sign Language course, scheduled for December 23 to 26. Led by certified sign language expert Wael Samir, this course is designed to provide participants with foundational skills in sign language, fostering better communication with the deaf community and supporting the development of an inclusive society.
