Sharjah24: The Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), led by Mohammed Ali Jaber Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee, reviewed a draft law addressing military pensions and end-of-service benefits for personnel in regulatory bodies within the emirate. The discussion was part of the Council’s fifth session of the second ordinary term of its 11th legislative term, held on Thursday.
Al Hammadi noted that the committee examined various observations on the draft law in collaboration with government representatives. He emphasised that the proposed amendments aim to serve the public interest, including a key provision for child allowances for children born after retirement, an innovative feature unique to Sharjah.
In comments to “Sharjah24”, Al Hammadi indicated that the Council reviewed the draft law's provisions, focussing on the emirate's public interest. Among the most notable amendments is the eligibility for child allowances for children born after retirement, marking a unique aspect of this legislation in Sharjah. He noted that the contributions from the members during the session significantly enriched the discussions and improved the law. The proposed amendments were based on thorough studies and comparisons with similar laws in the UAE and the Gulf region.
