Sharjah 24: His Excellency Khalid Issa Al Midfaa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club, expressed his thanks, appreciation and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for the generous honour given to players, and for the reward that His Highness ordered for the men's handball team after they excelled in the Asian games.
This came during his chairmanship of the club's board of directors meeting, attended by members, on Tuesday, at the club's headquarters in Samnan.
Al Midfaa praised the great and unlimited support provided by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah; and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and their continuous follow-up and directives aimed at advancing the emirate's sports and raising the country's flag in all forums.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors stressed that all members and affiliates of the club are working and striving to continue achieving accomplishments in all sports at the local and international levels, and raising the name of Sharjah and the UAE's flag high in various championships.
Khaled Al Midfaa appreciated the great role of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) and its clear contributions to the development seen by the emirate’s sports, as it achieved many accomplishments on all levels and was a major reason for what the club’s games have reached in particular.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors praised the outstanding results achieved by the club's sports teams, pointing out the presence of the first football team at the top of the Adnoc Professional League and its advancement to the round of 16 in the Asian Championship, and the achievement of the first handball team in the 27th Asian Championship, and representing the UAE in the Asian forum in an honourable manner, which allowed them to be present in the largest handball championship (Super Globe), as well as the many achievements made by individual games and the victory of the UAE national team in the West Asian Karate Championship, thanking all members of the club from administrative and technical employees and players, hoping that work will continue with the same spirit to make more achievements.
The board discussed a number of topics on its agenda related to developing administrative work and following up on the performance of sports departments.
The board reviewed the organisational structure of the club and its various departments, and discussed the strategic plan, goals, future plans, and the mechanism for implementing them during the coming period. The meeting also touched on the draft preparation of regulations governing the administrative and financial work of the club.
The meeting included reviewing the work of the club's various departments, and the needs that contribute to continuing performance and achieving distinguished positive results during the current sports season 2024-2025.
