Sharjah24: Brigadier General Dr Mohammed Khamis Al Othmani, Director General of the Sharjah Police Academy, revealed that the fifth cycle of the Scientific Research Award reflects Sharjah's esteemed standing as a capital of Arab and Islamic culture.
The award encompasses three primary areas. The first highlights high standards and outstanding performance in security work, covering aspects like strategic management, service quality, institutional excellence, and innovation.

The second field encompasses criminal investigation, covering areas such as crime prevention, cybersecurity, data analysis, crime forecasting, and the use of AI in security measures. The third field focuses on police management, which includes smart security services; knowledge management; organizational leadership; and community safety.

Brigadier Al Othmani emphasized the benefits of the award's four previous cycles.  It has greatly enhanced scientific research at local, Arab, and international levels, motivating Emirati and Arab researchers to create significant studies in security.

Moreover, the results and suggestions from these studies have played a crucial role in improving and modernizing academic programs at the Academy at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, encompassing master's and doctoral studies.  The response to the award has been exceptionally positive, ensuring its continuation each year.

The award consists of three distinct levels. The institutional level concentrates on organizations, while the individual level targets university and college students, employees, and personnel within educational, research, and police institutions.

The third level emphasises collaborative research, which brings together university students, academics, researchers, and police staff. For this level, submissions must include an Emirati participant if the lead researcher is not a national of the UAE.

The Academy's website will open registration for the award this Thursday, and submissions will remain open until 4 April 2025. The announcement of winners will take place in June 2025 at a special ceremony. Cash prizes for each level are AED 50,000 for first place, AED 20,000 for second place, and AED 10,000 for third place.
