His Excellency Salem Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the SBA, emphasised that participating in the third edition of the Global Media Congress reflects the authority's commitment to enhancing its presence in international media events that highlight the latest trends and technologies in the media sector. He described the congress as an ideal platform to exchange ideas and experiences with global media organizations and explore avenues for collaboration in media innovation, television production, and digital content.
His Excellency further noted that the participation highlights the authority’s achievements and its rich media legacy. This legacy includes key milestones in its continuous development under the Sharjah Media Council, which, guided by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, has implemented clear strategies to reinforce Sharjah's role in advancing the UAE's media landscape. The SBA now encompasses six television channels, four radio stations, the Maraya platform, the Sharjah Media Academy, a news centre, and a digital media department.
SBA’s participation in the congress is further distinguished by the significant contribution of the Sharjah Media Academy, which will conduct three training workshops. On the first day, the academy will present a workshop titled “The Impact of Charisma in Media”, led by media professional Ahmed Lootah. This session will delve into key topics, such as the definition and application of charisma in media, the role of body language in communication, and examples of charismatic figures. The 45-minute workshop will run from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM.
On the second day, the workshop “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Media” will be presented by Rashid Al Naqbi, Director of Digital Services at SBA. This session will highlight the growing role of AI in various fields, including media, where it has revolutionized content creation, automation, data analysis, and fact-checking. The workshop, also 45 minutes long, will cover critical topics such as deepfake technology and other essential AI concepts.
The final day of the congress will feature a workshop titled “Applications of Drone Technology”, presented by Khalid Al Hosani. This session will provide an overview of drone components, operation, types, safety systems, and guidelines for users. It will also address restricted airspace, permits, transmission systems, and battery management.
Maraya platform, a key part of SBA, will also play an active role in the congress. It will offer a unique experience to attendees by showcasing a variety of newly released films and series on its platform, which provides family-friendly content. The platform focuses on diversifying its offerings, including animated films with a wide audience base. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore Maraya's app through an interactive display screen, allowing them to fully experience its advanced features.
Sharjah TV’s News Centre will also leverage the event to highlight its pioneering news experience, which began with the launch of Akhbar Al Dar news bulletin in 2005. The centre, established in 2014, now includes dozens of highly skilled national staff and relies on cutting-edge production and broadcasting technologies to deliver credible and transparent content, ensuring an exceptional viewing experience.
Additionally, SBA’s Digital Media Department will showcase its major achievements during the congress through a comprehensive visual presentation. This will include key statistics since its establishment in 2008, highlighting its growth in reach and engagement across various digital platforms. The presentation reflects its ability to effectively connect with audiences and deliver news and information swiftly and efficiently.
