Sharjah24: The Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS) is participating in the 15th edition of the Al Ain Book Festival 2024, held in Al Ain. The festival will run from 17 to 23 November 2024.
This participation aligns with the directives and strategic plan of ABEGS and its affiliated entities in member states, aiming to disseminate the scientific outputs of the Bureau across various fields of education. Through its participation, the Bureau seeks to present its publications to relevant institutions, visitors of the festival, and to promote its outputs while reinforcing its presence in such scientific and cultural forums.
The educational publications from the Educational Centre for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States will be showcased at the Bureau's booth. These include significant works in the field of Arabic language education, such as "Difficulties in Learning Reading and Writing in Early Grades: Manifestations, Causes, and Remedies," "Educational Needs Linked to Citizenship and Sustainable Development in Arabic Language Curricula," "Arabic Language Teachers’ Proficiency in 21st-Century Skills in General Education," and "Teaching Reading to Beginners in Light of Oral Linguistic Requirements," among others.
Additionally, the Centre will present a collection of new publications, including the "Reference Framework for Teaching Arabic to Speakers of Other Languages: Composition, Instruction, and Training," which is the first comprehensive framework of its kind globally. Other notable contributions include a study on developing electronic reading skills for secondary students, a framework for integrating technology in Arabic language teaching, and five publications from the 7th International Arabic Language Conference in Sharjah.
The Bureau will also feature its latest publications across various educational fields, such as "Education in the Gulf States Towards Sustainable Development," "Fairness in Grading,” "The Hidden Cues in the Adolescent Mind," "Promoting a Culture of Volunteerism," and "Strategies and Insights for the Digital Age in Educational Technology," among others.
ABEGS consistently strives to participate in such events to foster interaction and communication between creators of cultural, intellectual, scientific, and creative works and their audiences. In addition to the Al Ain Book Festival, ABEGS regularly takes part in other major events such as the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair and the Sharjah International Book Fair, continuously promoting its scientific, cultural, intellectual, and educational publications.
