Mleiha Club honours athletes with Award for Sports Excellence

Sharjah24: In line with its commitment to promoting sports excellence and nurturing creative talents, the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club recently held a special ceremony to honor the winners of the Mleiha Award for Sports Excellence for October 2024.
The ceremony took place yesterday evening at the club’s headquarters, attended by the club’s Vice Chairman, Abdullah Salem Khasouni Al Ketbi. He took the opportunity to commend the honorees for their hard work and significant contributions to achieving outstanding sporting milestones.

During the event, athletes, coaches, and administrators across various sports categories were recognized for their exceptional performances, underscoring the club's dedication to fostering a thriving sports culture and developing young talents. The atmosphere was filled with pride and appreciation as attendees celebrated the spirit of teamwork that has helped the club achieve remarkable success and solidify its status as a leading supporter of sports excellence in the country.

In the Individual Sports and Talent Sponsorship category, several athletes were acknowledged for their achievements. Abdullah Mohammed Al Ketbi, a swimmer in the under-14 category, received the Distinguished Player Award, while Hamid Saeed Al Ketbi was awarded the Rising Player Award in the under-11 swimming category. Coach Shadi Shaker Abdul Rahim was honored with the Distinguished Coach Award for his remarkable efforts in training swimmers and nurturing emerging talents, and Hamid Abdullah Al Habsi was recognized as a distinguished administrator for his role in managing the cycling teams for the Cubs and Juniors categories.

In the Team Sports Committee, Mohammed Saleh Mohammed Al Ketbi was named the best distinguished player in basketball for the junior category, with Abdullah Hamid Al Ketbi receiving the emerging player award. Coach Mohammed Magdy Sayed Mohammed was recognized for his outstanding contribution to training the handball teams for categories (A) and (B), while Ali Hamad Salem Al Kharm was awarded the Distinguished Administrator title for his effective management of the volleyball teams for Cubs and Juniors.

In the Football and Age Groups Committee, Hamad Adnan Al Hammadi excelled, winning the Distinguished Player Award for the Juniors category, while Hamad Mabkhout Al Karbi claimed the Rising Player Award for the under-11 category. Abdullah Mohammed Al Mulla was honored as the Distinguished Goalkeeper Coach for the under-18 category, and Salem Mohammed Al Kaabi received the Distinguished Administrator Award for his work with the under-13 category.

Additionally, in the management category, Ezzat Sambo Abdel Halim was honored with the Distinguished Employee Award in recognition of his unwavering dedication and significant contributions to enhancing the club’s administrative performance.

In his speech during the ceremony, Abdullah Salem Khasouni Al Ketbi emphasized the importance of the award in motivating athletes and administrators to strive for excellence. He pointed out that the pursuit of excellence in sports extends beyond just the players, encompassing the vital roles played by coaches and administrators, who are integral to the success of the system.

Al Ketbi concluded by reiterating the Mleiha Club's commitment to fostering excellence and promoting a culture of healthy competition among its members, highlighting that supporting young talents and enhancing both sports and administrative performance form the foundation of the club’s ongoing efforts.
