Sharjah24: The Sharjah Handball Team was greeted with a warm and official reception following their remarkable victory in the Asian Clubs League Championship—an achievement that marks a historic first for the team and secures their spot in the upcoming Club World Cup, the "Super Globe," to be held in Egypt next year.
This significant milestone was reached after the team triumphed over the reigning champions, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Khaleej, winning the final match 27-26 during the 27th edition of the tournament hosted in Qatar's capital, Doha.
Upon arriving at Sharjah International Airport on Sunday evening, the team was welcomed by a group of prominent officials, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah; Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah International Airport Authority; Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council; Khalid Issa Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Club; and Mohammed Obaid Al Hossan, Head of the Club’s Group Games Department.
The players and delegation members celebrated by boarding an open bus, proudly displaying the Asian Championship trophy. The bus then made its way from the airport to the club’s headquarters, where a lively celebration took place in the covered hall, attended by officials and fans alike, creating a festive atmosphere to honor their exceptional achievement.
