Sharjah 24: Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) concluded a specialised training course entitled "Internal Auditing According to International Standard Specifications", aimed to qualify 12 employees from various organisational units in the SCC General Secretariat of, with the aim of building a team specialised in internal auditing in line with international quality standards.
The course is part of the Council's strategy aimed at enhancing the advancement of human capital, by providing specialised training programmes that contribute to the improvement of human resources and enhance the level of giving to serve the Council and its members.

The course included theoretical and practical training on internal audit mechanisms, with a focus on studying international standard specifications and applying them within the scope of the Council.

After successfully passing the test, employees will become certified auditors capable of assessing compliance with the standards and providing recommendations that contribute to improving institutional performance.

The course, which was presented, on Friday, by Mr. Shaker Saad from the global company SGS, is the second of its kind in the Council's journey towards strategic transformation and adopting parliamentary institutional excellence standards.

The 3-day course was attended by trainees from different departments, to ensure the application of the principle of neutrality in the auditing process, as the auditor is not allowed to conduct an audit on his direct management. This step aims to enhance transparency and ensure compliance with the international specifications adopted by the Council.

In a statement, His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of SCC, confirmed that the course comes within the framework of the Council's commitment to quality standards and its keenness to raise the level of human competencies.

Al Jarwan said that the accreditation of internal auditors within the General Secretariat of the Council is an important step towards achieving institutional excellence, within the framework of the commitment to studying the development needs of human resources and providing programs that contribute to enhancing the professional and cognitive awareness of all employees.

The course represents a qualitative addition to the Council's plans to ensure the provision of the best parliamentary services and enhance the Council's position in international fora concerned with institutional excellence.

Al Jarwan pointed out that the Council’s commitment to international quality standards, which resulted in it obtaining a number of quality certificates from SGS, motivates it to continue its institutional development journey and raise the name of the Emirate of Sharjah as a showcase for excellence in parliamentary work.

Al Jarwan added that qualifying a team of internal auditors enhances SCC ability to comply with international standards and achieves higher levels of transparency and efficiency, which is in the interest of parliamentary work and society in general.
