The festival, taking place at the Academy of Arts in Egypt from 10 to 14 November 2024, celebrated their theatrical performance, Labeeb.
Young performers from Khor Fakkan, Kalba, and Dibba Al Hisn presented the play, captivating both the jury and the audience with its unique blend of scientific themes and emotional depth. The narrative revolves around "Muneer," a brilliant inventor dedicated to rescuing the world from a lethal virus while safeguarding his son, "Watan," who represents the UAE. With the help of a robot companion named Labeeb, the narrative delivered a compelling message about the significance of creativity, collaboration, and scientific advancement in addressing challenges and fostering a better future.
The delegation conveyed a sense of pride in their accomplishments, emphasizing the worldwide impact of the Rubu-Qarn Foundation’s initiatives to nurture young talent.
Furthermore, attendees engaged in two workshops throughout the festival. The first workshop, directed by Shadi Al-Dali, concentrated on advanced acting techniques, whereas the second, led by Dr. Khulood Al-Rashidi, delved into puppet-making with recycled materials, merging creativity with sustainability.
The festival's participation highlights Rubu’ Qarn’s dedication to fostering creativity among its members aged 6 to 31. The initiative seeks to improve their skills, promote cultural exchange with Arab theatre professionals, and incorporate innovative practices in theatre as a means of education and cultural advancement.
