Abdullah Sultan bin Khadim, Executive Director of SCI, stated that the association had made significant strides in enhancing the quality of medical aid provided to kidney failure patients, particularly in terms of the speed of response once the aid request is approved by the assistance committee. He highlighted that the Sharjah Charity Dialysis Centre exemplifies the true impact of the aid provided to those in need, especially by reducing the critical time factor for kidney failure patients, whose condition is life-threatening and requires immediate treatment.
He confirmed that the centre operates continuously throughout the week, both day and night, and has carried out 5,157 sessions since the start of the year. He added that patients who are unable to afford the cost of treatment have their cases assessed, with the association covering the expenses for the necessary dialysis sessions in coordination with nearby hospitals.
He further noted that the association fulfils its humanitarian role in line with its strategic vision and plan, which focuses on providing comprehensive care and assistance to those requesting medical aid, particularly in urgent cases such as kidney failure, where immediate and ongoing treatment is required to ensure recovery and achieve the desired health outcomes. In this context, all necessary measures have been taken to support patients through the aid committees, which carefully assess and review the requests. The association also benefits from agreements and collaborative channels with relevant bodies, ensuring the treatment of patients referred by the association at reduced, symbolic prices. He expressed sincere gratitude to the supporters of the kidney dialysis treatment project, whose generosity helps alleviate the suffering of many patients who have no other means of support. He appealed to philanthropists and benefactors for further assistance, so that the project can expand and accommodate more machines and beds, enabling the centre to serve a larger number of patients.
